Clonidine HCl is a medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure. It works by stimulating alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the brain, which helps to lower blood pressure by reducing heart rate and relaxing blood vessels. Additionally, it can be used for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), certain pain conditions, and withdrawal symptoms from opioids.
